Men's track and field competes at UW-River Falls Falcon Invite

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The St. Olaf men's track and field team won two relays and two individual events as it was fourth of six teams at the Falcon Invite on Saturday afternoon.
The Oles' 4x100 relay team -- Cameron Smith, James McFarlin, Alex Nelson and Aaron Stets -- won with a time of 42.83 as the first of two relay victories. McFarlin, JB Tut, Kevin Skrip and Stets teamed to win the 4x400 relay later in the day in 3:20.89.
St. Olaf had two individual victories. Paul Escher won the 800 in a time of 1:56.14. He was one of five Oles in the top 10 in the event. Sean Bjork was fourth, Jacob Eggers sixth andTim Erickson was seventh.
First year Dan Slaughter won the javelin with a 52.56m effort, which came on his first throw. Ethan Lunning was fourth in the hammer (44.18m).
Aaron Dunphy was second in the 110 hurdles (15.99) while McFarlin was second (11.27) and Smith sixth (11.63) in the 100.
The Oles' Colton Rod was second in the 5000 as St. Olaf had five of the nine runners in the event. Charlie Baird was third and Adam Wood fourth.
