Women's track and field second, Novacinski wins twice at UW-River Falls Invite

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team was second at the UW-River Falls Falcon Invite as Moriah Novacinski won the 800 and 1500.

Novacinski won the 39-runner 1500 with her 4:49.32 in the first of the event's three heats. Teammates Jamie Hoornaert was second (4:54.57) and Morghen Philippi fourth (5:00.66).

Novacinski's win in the 800 (2:20.33) was by over a second in front of St. Thomas' Kayla Janto in the first heat. The Oles' Shaina Rud was fourth and Allison Trezona fifth.

Other St. Olaf highlights:
Elise Raney was second in the high jump. Raney cleared 1.57 meters on her second attempt at the height.

Zoe Hansen was third in the javelin with a 31.08.

Britta Olsen had two top-three finishes. She was second in the 100 (13:31) and third in the long jump (4.87m).

Tara Reyelts was third in the 400 in a time of 1:00.77. She later finished fifth in the 200 in 27.63.

Amy Waananen was runner up in the meet's 5000. She finished in 18:53.83.

The Oles had three of the six competitors in the 3000 steeplechase. Emma Crumley was second (12:13.57) and Serina Robinson third (12:24.98).
