Volleyball dealt pair of losses by Wisconsin schools

UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire each defeated the St. Olaf volleyball team in the third and fourth round of the Augsburg Invitational in Minneapolis Saturday.

St. Olaf played Stout to a tough, five-game match, but the Bluedevils captured the deciding game 15-12.

Andrea Otteman (Jr., Ames, Iowa) had 17 kills and 18 digs in the loss.

Christine Brook (Fy, Cherry Creek, Colo./Centennial) had 12 kills in the second match of the day, but tournament champion UW-Eau Claire downed St. Olaf in straight games, 30-22, 30-27 and 30-15.

Molly Menard led all attackers with 15 kills in the win for the Blugolds.

Audrey Volstad (Jr., Hanley Falls, Minn./YME) had 45 and 31 set assits in the losses, and was named to the nine-player all tournament team.

Danica Finseth (Sr., Chatfield, Minn.) was also named to the squad after collecting 43 kills in the four matches.

St. Olaf opens their conference schedule Wednesday when they host Macalester College at 7 p.m. at the Skoglund Center.
