Ole bats come alive in split with Pipers

ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Olaf had a combined 26 hits in a MIAC softball split with Hamline University on Friday afternoon, as the Oles won the first game 8-5 and lost the second 9-7.

Game One: St. Olaf 8, Hamline 5 (8 inn.)
Brooke Paradise hit a three-run homer in the top of the eighth as the Oles won the first game 8-5. Afton Wolter was 4-for-5 while Stephanie Borndale and Sara Lind had three hits each as St. Olaf had a season-high 17 hits in the win.

Jamie Rubbelke was 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs for the Pipers.

Game Two: Hamline 9, St. Olaf 7
St. Olaf scored five runs in the final two innings, but Hamline held on for the 9-7 win and split.

Rubbelke was again 3-for-4 as one of four Pipers (14-13, 8-4 MIAC) with multi-hit games.

Borndale was 2-for-4 for the Oles (5-21, 5-11 MIAC).
