Royals win game one, Oles get game two in MIAC baseball split

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Bethel edged St. Olaf 3-2 in game one before the Oles responded with a 7-1 victory in game two to earn a MIAC baseball split on Saturday afternoon at Mark Almli Field.

Game One: Bethel 3, St. Olaf 2
Matt Conrad was 3-for-4 and Mike Schultz 2-for-3 as Bethel edged the Oles 3-2 in game one.

Chris Paradise hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to get St. Olaf within a run.

Game Two: St. Olaf 7, Bethel 1
Sam Maus went 4-for-4 and Jack Schechinger 3-for-3 while Nate Gelle worked eight scoreless innings as the Oles earned the split with a 7-1 victory. Kap Davis added three hits for St. Olaf (19-15, 9-7 MIAC).

Gelle allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Schechinger walked twice and his two-run homer in the sixth inning gave St. Olaf a 6-0 lead.
