Ole women compete at Janis Rider Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team competed at the Janis Rider Invitational at Macalester College on Saturday afternoon.

Top performances came from the 5K event where the Ole women took three of the top five finishes. First year Jamie Hoornaert finished second behind Macalester's Kimber Meyer with a time of 18:20.32. Hoornaert was closely followed by teammate Meggie Exner (18:23.67) and Amy Waananen (18:45.44) who were third and fourth respectfully.

Cross country All-American Noelle Olson competed for the first time in the outdoor season, placing second in the 10K with a finishing time of 38:16.50. Emma Crumley also picked up a second place finish in the 3K steeplechase (11:49.27)edging out the third place finisher by less than a second.

Other top performances came from Moriah Novacinski who placed third in the 800 with a personal best of 2:17.75. Tara Reyelts was third in the 400 (1:00,12) closely followed by teammate Shaina Rud (1:00.24). Megan Holmes was fourth in the 1500 (4:53.25).

The Ole women have two more competitions before the MIAC Outdoor Championships at St. Olaf on May 9-10. They will compete on Wednesday at the Tommie Twilight and then again on Saturday at Hamline's Meet of the Unsaintly.
