Schechinger, Maus named All-MIAC, Kulla and Maus are all-defensive picks

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Seniors Jack Schechinger and Sam Maus were named All-MIAC on Wednesday while Maus and fellow senior Nick Kulla were named the league's 10-player all-defensive team.
Maus led the team in average (.399), homers (6), hits (57), runs (47) while stealing 11 bases and driving in 32 runs. He opened the season on a 13-game hitting streak and hit safely in all but nine games. Maus had 16 multi-hit games including three four-hit efforts and another four with three knocks.
Schechinger hit .364 with four homers and a team-best 33 RBI. He drew a remarkable 29 walks and was hit 10 times with only 13 strikeouts. His .519 on-base percentage ranked second in the league. Schechinger hit safely in 10 of his final 11 games.
Kulla, a two-time all-defensive team selection, fielded .954 after moving from second base to shortstop for his final season. He made only nine errors in 187 chances while turning 12 double plays. Maus made only four errors in 83 tries.
