Carlson, Schroeder named ITA Scholar-Athlete

SKILLMAN, N.J. - St. Olaf men's tennis student-athletes Ben Carlson and Michael Schroeder were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes on Thursday.

n order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).

In May, Schroeder was named the MIAC Elite 22 Award for men's tennis, as he helped St. Olaf to the league's playoff title match while holding a 3.91 GPA. He was 9-6 as a singles player, including a 9-4 mark at the No. 6 spot.

Carleon was 11-7 overall, mostly at the No. 3 singles position.
