Volleyball beats Gusties in three

St. Olaf had four players in double figures for kills in a 30-26, 30-27 and 30-22 over Gustavus Adolphus College at Skoglund Center in Northfield Wednesday night.

Ashley Dennis (Jr., Billings, Mont.) led the Oles with 13 kills and 15 digs. It was Dennis' second straight double-double of kills and digs.

Christine Brook (Fy, Centennial, Colo./Cherry Creek) added 11 kills, and Audrey Volstad (Jr., Hanley Falls, Minn./YME) had 46 set assists, seven kills and hit .500 in the win.

Andrea Kron (So., Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) had 12 kills and Jessica Plemel (Jr., Owatonna, Minn.) 26 digs to pace the Gusties.

Andrea Otteman (Jr., Ames, Iowa) and Danica Finseth (Sr., Chatfield, Minn.) added ten kills apiece for the Oles. Otteman hit .391 and Jessica Leven (Fy, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) hit .438 and had nine kills.

St. Olaf hit .513 in the deciding third game and .298 for the match.

The Oles (4-2 MIAC, 9-5) play in the Border Battle in St. Peter this weekend. They will open with Loras College at 4 p.m. and the University of Dubuque at 8 p.m. Friday.
