Concordia-Moorhead College defeated the St. Olaf volleyball team 27-30, 30-22, 23-30, 32-30 and 19-17, despite a career-high 22 kills from the Oles' Jessica Levin (Fy, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier), Saturday in Moorhead, Minn.

The Oles (12-8 overall, 5-3 MIAC) had four chances, one in game four and three in game five, at match point.

St. Olaf would have clinched their first MIAC playoff berth since they won the event in 2002 with a win, but the Oles will have to wait until Wednesday when they host 2-6 Saint Mary's for another opportunity.

Levin hit .553 in the loss.

Concordia's Becca Shane had 25 kills to lead the Cobbers (20-2 overall, 7-2 MIAC).

The Oles had four besides Levin with double-digits in kills. Danica Finseth (Sr., Chatfield, Minn.) and Ashley Dennis (Jr., Billings, Mont.) had 17 apiece, Andrea Otteman (Jr., Ames, Iowa) added 16 and first year Chris Brook (Centennial, Colo./Cherry Creek) had 11.

Otteman had 25 digs and Audrey Volstad (Jr., Hanley Falls, Minn./YME) had 76 set assists.

St. Olaf can secure a spot in the six-team MIAC playoffs with a win in any of their three remaining league matches, or with a Macalester loss in one of the Scots' final three matches.

The Oles have tenth place Saint Mary's Wednesday, fourth place Saint Ben's (16-4, 6-2) Saturday and second place Carleton (18-3, 7-1) on Oct. 26.
