Volleyball misses Pikes' Peak title in split with Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The St. Olaf College volleyball team downed Colorado College in the third round of the Pikes' Peak Challenge before falling to CC in the tournament championship in the nightcap in five games.

In the tournament finale, host Tigers (3-1) rallied from a 2-1 game deficit to beat the Oles (2-2) 30-27, 21-30, 20-30, 30-28 and 15-10.

Tournament MVP Michelle Rybka had 20 kills, hitting at a .514 clip, for CC in the win.

The Oles' Andrea Otteman had 17 kills and Audrey Volstad 43 set assists, ten digs and eight kills in the loss. Each were named to the eight-member all-tournament team.

St. Olaf beat the host Tigers 30-21, 30-15, 28-30 and 30-16 in the final game of round-robin play earlier in the day.

Alyssa Williams had 21 digs and six aces while Otteman had 15 kills and hit .448.

St. Olaf plays next on Friday, when it hosts the St. Olaf Invitational. The Oles meet UW-LaCrosse at 2 p.m. and Waldorf College at 6 p.m.
