Volleyball surges past Auggies

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Christine Brook had a career-high 24 kills to lead St. Olaf to a 30-19, 30-28, 25-30, 24-30 and 15-12 win over Augsburg College on Wednesday at Skoglund Center.

The Oles had won 28 in a row in the series entering the match, and the Auggies didn't make number 29 easy. Augsburg fought back from a 2-0 game deficit and had a 10-7 lead in the deciding fifth game.

St. Olaf scored matches last six points behind the serves of Andrea Otteman, who finished with 13 kills and a team-high 20 digs in the win.

Augsburg's Dani Boner and Katie LaGrave had 17 kills apeice in the loss.

Jessica Levin added 15 kills for St. Olaf, which ended a three-match MIAC losing streak in the process.

The Oles (2-3 MIAC, 6-8) play at Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
