Men's Basketball
- St. Olaf (5-5, 2-3 MIAC) moved back to .500 with a pair of MIAC road wins to open the 2009 calendar year... The Oles defeated Augsburg 57-55 on Saturday before handing Saint John's a 71-59 defeat on Monday in Collegeville... The Oles' bench outscored SJU 25-0 in Monday's win.
- Bobby Fong had 18 points on Monday and 12 on Saturday at Augsburg... Fong is leading the team at 14.6 points/game and has been the top scorer in six of the team's ten games.
- The Oles' second-leading scorer is Nate Krosschell... Krosschell, who has come off the bench in nine of his ten appearances, had a career-best 15 points in Saturday's win over the Auggies.
- St. Olaf hosts Gustavus on Wednesday before playing at Bethel on Saturday.
Women's Basketball
- St. Olaf (3-6, 1-5 MIAC) had its first winning streak of 2008-09 this week, with wins over St. Scholastica on Wednesday and Augsburg on Saturday, before falling to Saint Ben's at home on Monday night.
- Elyse Erickson had 22, 20 and 24 points in the three games this week... Erickson is leading the MIAC in scoring.
- Jamie Erdahl had a team-best 21 points, all in the second half, in Saturday's win at Augsburg... Erdahl was 0-for-8 from the field in the first half and then went 4-for-7 from the arc and 7-for-11 from the line in the second frame to lead the Oles to their first MIAC win of the winter... She followed with a 12-point, career-high ten assist game on Monday in the loss to CSB.
- St. Olaf plays at Gustavus on Wednesday and at Bethel on Monday in the first two of a four-game road stretch.
Men's Hockey
- St. Olaf (8-3-1, 5-0-1 MIAC) split a weekend two-game set against WIAC/NCHA foes, defeating UW-Eau Claire 5-1 on Friday before falling at UW-Stevens Point 4-2 on Saturday... The Oles have a busy week ahead... They play at Bethel on Wednesday in a non-conference game, before hosting UW-Superior on Friday and St. Scholastica on Saturday.
- The Oles' win on Friday extended the team's unbeaten streak to seven... The stretch, which was snapped with Saturday's loss, was the best since the 2004-05 team went 7-0-1 from Feb. 4-March 1.
- Nick Krauss earned the win in Friday's game to move to 6-1-0... He and Ben Leis (2-2-0) have been outstanding in net thus far... Kraus has a 2.15 goals against average and a .938 save percentage, while Leis owns a 1.98 GAA and .931 save percentage... Each rank in the top four in both categories in the MIAC.
- Sophomore Isak Tranvik, who transferred to St. Olaf this season after spending 2007-08 at Division I Quinnipiac, had a goal in Saturday's loss and is second in the league in points and assists.
Women's Hockey
- St. Olaf (2-5-2, 2-3-1 MIAC) tied in its only game of the week, a non-conference 5-5 game with Concordia College-Moorhead. Kim McClintick scored twice for the Oles, who were playing their game since Dec. 6. McClintick's goals each came in the second period and gave St. Olaf a 4-1 lead.
- St. Olaf returns to conference play next weekend with a home-and-home series with the College of St. Catherine.
Skiing, Alpine - Men
- St. Olaf was first of 11 at its first race of 2008-09 on Saturday at Afton Alps... The Oles picked up the first five and eight of the top 11 spots in the slalom and the top four spots in the giant slalom in the event... Connor Lund was first in the slalom and third in the GS... Nick Stang won the giant slalom and was fourth in the slalom.
- The Oles ski next on Saturday and Sunday at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minn.
Skiing, Alpine - Women
- Calista Anderson won the slalom and giant slalom and Kayla Johnson was second in each event to help St. Olaf to a victory in an 11-team field at Afton Alps last weekend... The Oles took the top two and five of the top six in each race.
- This weekend, St. Olaf will ski at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minn.
Men's Swimming and Diving
- St. Olaf competed in and finished second in the seven-team Ed Kennedy Classic in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on Dec. 31... The Oles won the 200 Medley Relay - with Adam Meyer, Nelson Westby, Luke Money and Jake Koch - and two other relays... Meyer, Luke Murrell and Kyle Biesecker won the 150 Backstroke while Westby, Nate Bentley, Brock Edwards and Koch won 400 Free.
- The Oles, who swim next at Macalester on Saturday, were third in the Butterfly Relay and second in the 200 IM relay.
Women's Swimming and Diving
- St. Olaf was fifth at the Ed Kennedy Classic in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on Dec. 31... The Oles picked up a win in the 400 Free Relay with Katie Kubat, Laura Haynes, Lauren Snyder and Jamie Fredeen.
- St. Olaf competes at Macalester on Saturday.
Wrestling
- St. Olaf, who competed last on Dec. 9, is off this week. The Oles wrestle UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 12 at Skoglund Center.

Men's Basketball

- Jamie Erdahl had a team-best 21 points, all in the second half, in Saturday's win at Augsburg... Erdahl was 0-for-8 from the field in the first half and then went 4-for-7 from the arc and 7-for-11 from the line in the second frame to lead the Oles to their first MIAC win of the winter... She followed with a 12-point, career-high ten assist game on Monday in the loss to CSB.
