Men's Cross Country
- The St. Olaf men's cross country team was idle this week. The team competes Friday at the BluGold Invitational in Colfax, Wis.

Women's Cross Country
-The St. Olaf women's cross country team placed eighth in the 36-team field of the Maroon III race at Saturday's Roy Griak Invitational, held at the University of Minnesota's Les Bolstad Golf Course.

- Senior Annie Knutson was the Oles' top runner in the race, crossing the line in 23:13 to finish 11th overall... Teammate Jenna Carlson was 19th overall in 23:25. Juniors Abby Smith, Michaela McLaughlin, and Nellie Adams were also scorers for St. Olaf, finishing 58th, 65th, and 79th, respectively.

- The Oles compete Friday at the BluGold Invitational in Colfax, Wis.

Football
- St. Olaf (3-1, 1-1 MIAC) dropped a 49-21 decision at Augsburg College on Saturday... The 28-point loss to the Auggies stopped a four-game St. Olaf winning streak between the schools and was the Oles' worst in the series since 1997 (42-0), the same year Augsburg won the MIAC title... St. Olaf handed the Auggies lopsided defeats in the previous three meetings (49-0 in 2005, 68-17 in 2006 and 70-31 in 2007).

- The Auggies (3-0, 1-0 MIAC) turned all four St. Olaf turnovers into touchdowns and returned a kickoff for a score in the win, their first over St. Olaf since 2004... St. Olaf quarterback John Haberman was 13-of-23 for two touchdowns, but threw two interceptions and fumbled twice in the loss.

- Coty Watkins rushed for a 43-yard touchdown in the first quarter for the Oles in the loss... With the run Watkins has 20 career rushing touchdowns, good for fourth all-time with Ben Roff '07... Watkins has scored at least one touchdown in his last ten games, and 18 in the stretch, dating to week five of 2007.

- St. Olaf hosts Carleton College on Saturday in the Oles' homecoming game... St. Olaf has won 11 straight against Carleton, including last season's 85-28 win at the Knights' Laird Stadium... The Oles have only played Carleton once in a homecoming game since 1996, a 34-21 win in 2004.

Men's Golf
-Members of the St. Olaf men's golf team competed in the Winona State University Collegiate Invite, held at the Oaks Golf Course on Saturday in Hayfield, Minn.

-The Oles' top golfer in the event was Ryan Lubinsky, tying for second and shooting 75 strokes-The team competes next at the MIAC Championships October 4-6 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn.

Women's Golf
-The St. Olaf women's golf team was idle this week.

- The Oles will play in the MIAC Championships at Bunker Hills Golf Course, Oct. 5-7, in Coon Rapids, Minn.

Men's Soccer
- The St. Olaf men's soccer team (5-4-0, 2-2-0 MIAC) lost a pair of 3-0 MIAC games - to Augsburg College on Tuesday and Saint John's on Saturday... The losses were the worst back-to-back conference losses in the tenure of 21-year head coach Kurt Anderson.

-St. Olaf next hosts Concordia College on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Women's Soccer
- The St. Olaf women's soccer team (4-4-1, 1-2-1 MIAC) went 0-1-1 last week with a 1-1 tie against Augsburg on Wednesday and a 1-0 loss at Saint Ben's on Saturday.

- After Wednesday's home match with Concordia College-Moorhead, the Oles play at the College of St. Catherine on Saturday.

Volleyball
- St. Olaf (12-7, 2-1 MIAC) went 2-3 last week, but won its only MIAC match, a five-set home win over Gustavus on Wednesday... Kim Smisek had 20 kills and Jess Levin 19 in the Gustavus... Levin or Smisek have led the Oles in kills in every match this year.

- Levin was named the Central College Invitational All-Tournament team, her third straight all-tournament honor, as the Oles went 1-3 at the event... St. Olaf defeated Buena Vista University in three games before dropping a pair of five-set matches to host Central and Wis.-Eau Claire... The Oles then dropped the finale in four sets to Wis.-River Falls.

- St. Olaf is now 2-4 in five-set matches this fall.

- St. Olaf (12-7, 2-1 MIAC) has lost three straight overall, but will take a two-game league winning streak into Wednesday's match at the College of Saint Benedict.
