Men's Basketball
- St. Olaf (3-4, 0-3 MIAC) dropped its only game of the week, a 65-47 game to Carleton College on Wednesday... The loss was the Oles' second straight to the Knights and allows Carleton to keep possession of the Goat Trophy for at least one more season... To get the Goat, a trophy traded between the Northfield schools since 1919, a team must sweep the season series from the beholder.
- St. Olaf does not play until a Dec. 30 meeting at Division I South Dakota... 2008-09 is the Coyotes' first in Division I.
Women's Basketball
- St. Olaf (1-5, 0-4 MIAC) lost a one-point heartbreaker, 62-61, to Carleton on Wednesday... The Oles' Elyse Erickson, who fouled out with 1:46 left in the game, led all scorers with 22 points.
- The Oles' are off until a Dec. 31 non-conference road game at the College of St. Scholastica.
Men's Hockey
- St. Olaf (7-2-1, 5-0-1 MIAC) was idle this week... The Oles are off until Jan. 2, when they play at UW-Eau Claire in the first of five non-conference games in a nine-day stretch.
Women's Hockey
- St. Olaf (2-5-1, 2-3-1 MIAC) did not play this week... The team is idle until Jan. 4 when it meets Concordia College-Moorhead in a non-conference game.
Men's Soccer
- St. Olaf sophomore John Zietlow was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Far West All-Region second team after collecting a league best 39 points on 13 goals and 13 assists... Zietlow, who was named the team's MVP, has 64 career points in just two seasons (24 goals, 20 assists).... The honor was the second straight for Zietlow, who was a second team pick last year after a nine-goal, seven-assist first year campaign.
Men's Swimming and Diving
- St. Olaf, idle last week, is off until Dec. 31 when the team will compete at the Ed Kennedy Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
