For Immediate Release
The large margin of victory allowed both teams to clear their benches and give the reserves ample playing time. All but three Oles tallied at least 4 points. Well-balanced scoring meant that only one Ole was able to score in double digits and that was Natalie Siefer (senior, Storm Lake, Iowa) with 13 points.
St. Olaf also used strong defense to gain the victory. St. Olaf forced Macalester into 31 turnovers. Erin Collins (senior, Kasson, Minn.) led the strong defensive effort with 4 steals.
Macalester's Kelly McAnnany (sophomore, Minneapolis, Minn.) led all scores with 16 points while her teammate Kate Stebbins (junior, North Bend, Ore.) recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and collecting 11 boards.
Pat Buresh's Oles next take on conference powerhouse St. Benedict in the last game of a five game home stand for St. Olaf (Wed. Jan. 27, 7:30 PM).
