1988: Won Men's National Collegiate Olympic Weightlifting Championship.
1992: Graduated from Minnesota State-Mankato.
2002: Was head coach for Carleton College, earning MIAC coach of the year.
2004: Took head coaching job at Dakota Wesleyan.
2005: Became head wrestling coach at St. Olaf.

Sean Ahrar will coach his eighth season at St. Olaf in 2012-13. He coached two All-Americans in the 2010-11 season, Ryan Timmerman and Josef Waples. Ahrar spent 2004-05 as the head coach at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, S.D., leading seven Tigers to the NAIA National Championships and producing two Great Plains Athletic Conference Champions and one Region Champion. A native of Iran, Ahrar spent two seasons at Carleton earning the MIAC's coach of the year in 2002.

Ahrar, a 1992 Minnesota State University-Mankato graduate, has a bachelor's degree in English literature and a minor in speech communications. He was a varsity wrestler at Mankato as well as the 1988 Men's National Collegiate Olympic Weightlifting Champion. He earned a master's degree in management from the College of St. Scholastica in June of 2004.
