Congratulations on your decision to enroll at St. Olaf College – and welcome! As you enter the St. Olaf College community and begin your college journey, you are joining nearly 800 new students from 44 states and 10 countries.
The following checklist will assist you in completing required academic forms and accessing important campus resources before you come to campus on Saturday, September 5, 2009. For complete details, use Web links listed with each item. Note that individual deadlines are listed.
ONLINE FORMS THAT NEW STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT:

Information you provide on the advising questionnaire will assist us in matching you with an academic advisor. This questionnaire is a required form for all new students.

- Online Placement Exams:

Due date is August 15, 2009.
French, German, Spanish, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics offer online placement exams. The earlier you submit your placement tests over the summer, the better. New students are required to take all placement exams that pertain to courses you have taken in high school. Carefully read details about each placement exam offered.

Open registration period is Friday, July 17, 2009 – Monday, August 20, 2009.
New students register online later this summer for a First Year Writing or Religion 121 course. By accessing this online information, students learn how to use the online registration system, become acquainted with the Student Information System (SIS), and read course descriptions for First Year Writing and Religion 121. The remainder of semester I registration will take place on campus September 8.

From the Registrar’s Office, information on St. Olaf’s pre-college transfer credit policy, including Advance Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Post-Secondary Education Option (PSEO) and College in the Schools (CIS).
If you completed college course(s) while in high school and wish to have the credits evaluated for potential St. Olaf credit, you must have an official transcript sent directly from the college or university that offered the course (not your high school) to St. Olaf College Office of Admissions.

The Academic Support Center (ASC) helps students develop independent learning techniques that will contribute to their academic and personal growth at St. Olaf. The ASC has professional and student staff to assist students with time management, analytical reading, note-taking, writing, math, test-taking, or problem solving.
