Important Information Regarding Dining Services at St. Olaf College
Your St. Olaf One card must be presented at each meal for entrance to the dining room. In the event that you lose your card you should de-activate your card immediately by calling CARD (507-786-2273) and selecting the appropriate menu options. You can obtain a replacement card from the Buntrock Commons Office (room 147): Mon – Fri. 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. during the academic year (the office is closed during daily chapel services). There is a $25 Replacement Fee (charged to your OLE Dollars account) if you lose your card. The fee will not be charged for legal name changes.
Stave Hall is an all you can eat format and as such you are encouraged to try as many items as you wish. Bon Appetit attempts to curb waste by preparing meals in smaller batches throughout the meal period which in turn provides you with fresh, better tasting and more nutritious food. You can do your part by not taking more than you can eat. You can always return for a second serving if you wish. If you are unsure about trying something new please ask us for a taste before getting a full portion. You are not allowed to remove food from the servery with the exception of a cookie or a piece of fruit.
Backpacks, coats, water bottles, coffee cups, and food containers are not allowed to be brought into Stav Hall. Please utilize the storage units along the corridor walls for those items before you enter.
Please do not remove plates, glasses, silverware, or anything else that does not belong to you. We do our best to provide you with a high quality dining experience and spending money to replace those items takes money away from the effort.
Students with dietary concerns should contact the Bon Appetit General Manager to discuss their dietary needs. You can also e-mail bonappetit@stolaf.edu. You are encouraged to direct questions to the service staff and management should you have any. Bon Appetit will make every effort to accommodate each student’s needs.
Arrangements for picnics, special group meals and banquets can be made in the catering office, located in Buntrock Commons. The office is off the east corridor behind the Cage.
Guests are always welcome. Guest meals may be purchased at the entrance to the dining room. You may use your Flex Points or Ole Dollars to purchase guest meals as well.

Hours are subject to change during breaks, special events, etc. Remember that during Interim, lunch hours are 10:45 AM to 1:30 PM daily. Go to www.stolaf.cafebonappetit.com for dining hours, menus, special events, etc.

Kings’ Dining Room (Trollhaugen and Valhalla Rooms)
The Kings Dining Room offers a buffet luncheon – including homemade soup, salad, bread and desserts – served in a relax setting. Call x 3050 or x 3763 for reservations.

The Cage

Bon Appetit Spending and Special Program
Ole Dollars
Sign up and save! Ole Dollars are available to anyone with a St. Olaf One card. Deposits by check or cash (no credit cards) to your account can be made at the St. Olaf Bookstore, the Cage Grill, and the Student Accounts Office. In the future you will be able to add to accounts at www.stolaf.edu/olecard. Students, faculty and staff will receive a special 10 percent discount when using OLE Dollars at any of the Bon Appetit facilities, including the Cage, Stav Hall, and the Kings’ Dining Room. Your remaining balance will be shown on the bottom of your receipts. Balances can also be checked without making a purchase. Ole dollars deposits are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Let your favorite St. Olaf student know you care. A long distance call? You’ll probably get voice mail. A letter? Takes too long. E-mail? Too impersonal. Our Thinking of You! Program enables you to send wholesome, fresh treats, or dining dollars to your student when you can’t be there in person.

Meal Plan Options
Please select your meal plan for 2009-2010 Academic Year. Note that each week begins with Friday breakfast and ends with Thursday dinner. Please select your board plan online by August 15th. If you fail to select a board plan by August 15, 2008, you will automatically be enrolled into board plan #2 (17 Meals per Week - $300 Flex dollars per year ($130 fall & spring semester / $40 Interim). Student has until the 10th day of class to change their board plan.
