Description

Join fellow Rochester Oles for their next meeting of the Rochester Oles Book Club at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, at Dunn Bros. Coffee, 120 Elton Hills Drive NW, in Rochester.

September's book choice is "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" by Lauren Hillenbrand.

On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared. This is the captivating story of a troubled young man turned Olympic athlete turned young lieutenant, who finds himself, after a doomed flight, aboard a tiny raft, adrift in the unknown.

Telling an unforgettable story of a man’s journey into extremity, "Unbroken" is a testament to the resilience of the human mind, body, and spirit.
