Cheri Honkala: Anti-Poverty Activist and Green Party Vice Presidential Candidate

Cheri Honkala is a leading advocate for the poor and homeless in America. As a formerly homeless single mother herself, she has been confronting banks and mortgage companies for decades, demanding that they adopt policies to keep families in their homes. Cheri co-founded the Kensington Welfare Rights Union and the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign. Honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Poor People's Campaign of 1967-68, she inspires a new generation of leaders working to end poverty. Cheri Honkala is currently running for vice president on the Green Party ticket.

Event sponsored by St. Olaf College Greens.
