The Akvavit Theatre, a Nordic-based theatre company in Chicago, will produce three world premier translations by Kyle Korynta ‘03: Gjenganger: Three Plays by Jon Fosse: "A Summer's Day," "Autumn Dream," and "Winter" at the prestigious DCASE Storefront Theatre in the downtown Chicago Loop Feb 28th-March 24th. Akvavit commissioned translations by alum Kyle Korynta ’03 after fellow St. Olaf alum Kirstin Franklin '03 and company member at Akvavit learned that Kyle was a scholar on Fosse's work and was interested in translation.

Franklin first learned of Fosse's fame through her former Norwegian professor at St.Olaf, Solveig Zempel. Franklin will also star as the lead character in "Autumn Dream."

These productions mark the Midwest premier of any of Fosse's work, which is surprising considering he is Europe's most produced living playwright, and his plays have been translated into more than 40 languages and produced world wide, but rarely, if ever, in the United States.

Akvavit Theatre cordially welcomes you to join them on this momentous celebration of bringing Norway's genius, Jon Fosse, to the Midwest.
