Meet the Coaches

Father-son coaching team Dave and Bob Hauck have made "swimming" synonymous with "excellence" at St. Olaf College. Each June, the Haucks co-coach the St. Olaf youth swim camps. In 20 years, they've coached more than 2,500 swim campers!

Dave Hauck, an NCAA Coach of the Year, has coached St. Olaf's powerhouse men's and women's swimming teams for more than 30 years, winning 35 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) championships. A member of the Minnesota Swimming Hall of Fame, he has coached more than 100 All-Americans and 11 national champions.

Bob Hauck '87, has co-coached St. Olaf's men's and women's swim teams for the past 19 years. As a St. Olaf competitor, Bob was a 23-time All-American, won seven national titles and set three national records. He was a world-ranked backstroker and competed in the 1988 Olympic trials. Like his dad, Bob loves to teach and coach, working with swimmers in the Northfield community from small children to seniors.

Maya Hamilton is in her fourth summer of St. Olaf camps and will enter her fourth season of coaching Ole men and women. She has coached for more than five years at the high school and college levels. Before coming to St. Olaf, Maya was the Breck High School girls swim team head coach, and she led that team to two consecutive second place finishes at state. She swam middle-distance and distance freestyle and backstroke for Yale University, and she competes on local and national levels in swimming, road cycling, triathlons and tae kwon do.
