Minutes for October 30, 2007
Present: Anthony Becker (chair), Roberta Lembke, Gary Miessler, Phyllis Larson
- The minutes of the October 9, 2007, meeting were approved with one change: that the Faculty Technology Poster Session will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6 th.
- The committee reviewed the technology inventory sheet for pandemic planning. The document inventories faculty regarding computer readiness to handle online teaching during a period when the campus might be shut down and students sent home. The committee tweaked the questions on the inventory. Roberta will be able to send staff members to meet with departments to go over the questions on the inventory.
- The committee reviewed St. Olaf’s email access policy.
- One problem is that ownership of email lists and web pages continues after someone leaves the college, unless the account is terminated. A solution: we can remove (manuall) someone from all mail lists to force re-subscription. We can also make the supervisor the co-owner of all lists so that the supervisor can modify lists
- The committee agreed that retired staff shouled be removed from all mail lists. - The committee will meet to consider fall computer requests on Nov. 13 th.
