    Call to order:-
    Chair Dietz called the meeting to order at 3:19.

  2. Approval of minutes from 2/14/07:

    The minutes from 2/14/07 were approved.

  3. Announcements

    No announcements.

  4. Finalize Family Studies green sheets

    -
    Minor modifications to the wording of the proposal were suggested and discussed. The proposal, with the recommended modifications, was approved.

  5. Discuss new course proposals

    -
    Art and Art History 110 :
    Minor modifications were suggested, discussed and approved.

    - Art and Art History 122 :
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved, including language associated with staffing issues.

    - Asian Studies conversation sequence :
    Drop the word “program” from the rationale for the change in the 3-course sequence. Other minor suggestions were discussed and approved.
    Asian Studies 215 was approved as on-campus course.

    - Biology 210 :
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved.

    - ID 125 Pending approval of policy on cross-listing courses, this course will be cross-listed. If the policy is not approved, the course will be listed in one department as determined by the appropriate Associate Dean(s),
    Minor modifications and wording were discussed and approved.

    - Dept./prog 396:
    Every department and program will be allowed to add this course as part of their offerings. This course was designed for directed undergraduate research for a variety of departments. Discussion continued on the nature of the proposed course and on appropriate wording within the proposal. This course would be available to all departments. Prerequisites to be determined by the individual instructor for the course.

    - Music 261 and 262:
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved.

    - Physics 292:
    Approved

    - Political Science 282:
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved. Course was previously taught as Russian politics. It is being significantly updated.

    - Political Science 283:
    Modifications were discussed. A rewrite along the guidelines approved by the CEPC should be completed.

    - Political Science 350:
    Modifications to an existing were discussed and approved.

    - Political Science 382:
    Modifications were discussed. A rewrite along the guidelines approved by the CEPC should be completed.

    - Psychology 337:
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved.

    - Psychology 378:
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved.

    - Religion 245:
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved.

    - Religion 278:
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved. Will be cross-listed with Philosophy.

    - Political Science XXX (278): Ambition and the Vocation of Leadership:
    Minor modifications were discussed and approved

    - Environmental Studies 281:
    Modifications were discussed and approved

    - Environmental Studies 381:
    Modifications were discussed and approved

    - Physical Education 110 :
    This is a course that already exists in nursing. Chair Dietz described a discussion she had with Physical Education on this issue. CEPC recommends that this is a course that could be recommended for cross-listing, and declines to recommend this as a new course.
