Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee is charged to oversee the curriculum of the college in light of its mission, aims and objectives, and to recommend to the faculty procedures and policies affecting the educational work of the college. The committee reviews proposals for new programs and courses, oversees the soundness and vitality of existing programs, and makes recommendations to the faculty at large on both matters. The committee works with the Office of the Registrar to establish sound academic policies and practices, and recommends new and revised policies and practices to the faculty. The work of the Curriculum Committee and the faculty on curricular issues is subject to final review by the Board of Regents and the President, as stipulated by the college’s bylaws.

The work of the committee is organized into subcommittees: the New Proposals Subcommittee, the Continuing Programs Subcommittee; the Policy and Planning Subcommittee, and the Assessment Subcommittee. The committee generally meets every other Wednesday, 3:30 - 4:30, in Buntrock 143. Subcommittees generally meet on alternate Wednesdays, when the committee does not meet. Visitors are welcome. Persons wishing to bring business before the committee should contact the chair. New course proposals should be delivered to the Registrar's office.
