Family Studies Major

Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will demonstrate:

  1. thorough knowledge of the theories and concepts of the discipline that will equip them for direct work with families and/or graduate school in related disciplines.
  2. deep understanding of the complex, interdisciplinary nature of the family in society.
  3. independent intellectual curiosity and interest in the study of families.
  4. integration of classroom and experiential learning.
  5. solid understanding of and appreciation for research methods used in the discipline.
