Minutes of the October 18, 2006 GEC Meeting
GEC members present: Sherry Saterstrom (chair, FA), Karl Fink (HUM), Elizabeth Leer (SSF), Kathy Granquist (Registrar’s office, ex-officio), Kathy Shea (NSM), Solveig Zempel (Associate Dean, IGS), Maren Anderson (student), Anne Sabo (IGS).
The meeting was called to order at 2:30 p.m.
Minutes from the October 11 meeting were approved as revised.
The committee discussed the format of letters for re-certification of courses with GE attributes.
The letter from the Norwegian Department submitted for ALS-L and ALS-A credit will be written to serve as a sample for other departments with similar lists of courses under review.
Re-certification was approved for ES 270, ALS-A.
The schedule for GEC meetings was revisited with a change of meetings to Thursdays, 4:15-5:15.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 26, at 4:15.
