OleChess offers a challenging week of instruction featuring some of the premier players and teachers in the world. Instruction is supplemented with activities designed to reinforce the new skills you learn and to provide ample opportunities for play. OleChess is for chess players of all ages, strengths and levels of experience. If you want to improve your game, enjoy the company of fellow chess enthusiasts and learn from the masters, OleChess is perfect for you!
OleChess Class Options and Fees
All class fees include double-occupancy lodging, meals, instructional sessions, all special activities and a camp shirt.
Scholarships are available for Minnesota students in need of financial assistance.
Chess Essentials Option: $615
For players of all ages and strengths. Campers are divided into classes of like ability and age. Campers 9 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult escort.
Intensive Study Option: $740
For players 1700 or at least 17 years of age. This option is intended for the serious adult student and involves additional instructional periods and lectures along with greater classroom rigor.
new Chalk Talk Option: $740
For adults (18 and older) interested in strengthening their chess knowledge for themselves or for the purpose of teaching others. This option includes take-away materials and a letter of recommendation for the USCF Certified Chess Coach Program.

OleChess Warm-up Tournament: Saturday, July 21, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Chess Basics Class: Sunday, July 22, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Open to any camper who needs the opportunity to hone up on their fundamentals of the game. For more details.
Chess Camp Instructors
Each year, Kevin Bachler - OleChess Camp Director and FIDE Master - brings the best available masters to OleChess. Camp instructors for summer 2012 include GM Alex Onischuk, GM Yury Shulman and IM John Bartholomew, and GM Irina Krush, one of the top women chess players in the U.S. and a former U.S. Women’s Champion.
