College Scholarship Competition
New in 2012!

For the first time, St. Olaf Piano Academy will be awarding a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to one outstanding Piano Academy participant. The Academy student must be rising seniors and must subsequently apply, be admitted and enroll as first-year students at St. Olaf College for the fall 2013 term. The recipients will be chosen by the Academy faculty. All rising seniors will be considered for the award, which will be presented at the final recital on Saturday. The award will be a renewable scholarship for up to four years, for a total of $4,000. It requires only that the student continue piano lessons and participate in a St. Olaf ensemble.

Piano Academy Performances and Recitals
Recitals begin on Monday evening with performances by St. Olaf faculty and camp counselors that are sure to inspire campers. During the week, students are encouraged to participate in evening recitals. At the end of the week there will be two formal recitals featuring all of the academy students: a Friday evening chamber program and a Saturday morning solo recital. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.

Admission by Audition
The academy is open to high school students who have completed grades 8-12 and is by audition only.  To apply, submit the registration form, piano teacher reference form, $100 deposit and an audition recording (CD or cassette) by April 2.  The recording should be about 10 minutes in length and include two pieces in contrasting style.  Notification of acceptance will be emailed April 18.  Students not admitted to the academy will receive a full refund of the deposit.  If you charge the deposit and are accepted the remaining fees will be processed on May 1.
