David Perry is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, currently writing a Ph.D. thesis on "Venice, Stolen Relics, and the Aftermath of the Fourth Crusade." He expects to defend his dissertation in Summer 2006. He has taught several classes at the University of Minnesota, including the History of the Crusades and the History of the Catholic Church, and been a teaching assistant for many others. At St. Olaf, he has taught classes on Medieval Women, The High and Late Middle Ages, The Crusades, Jihad and Crusades, and The Silk Road at St. Olaf. He has also worked in the Institute for Global Studies as an undergraduate advisor, website designer (http://igs.cla.umn.edu and http://hrp.cla.umn.edu), teaching assistant for a class on Human Rights Law, and instructor for the Senior Paper class. He also built the website for the Center for Early Modern History. His other interests include acoustic guitar and bass, ultimate frisbee, Venetian cuisine, and the Red Sox.
