Most importantly, there needs to be a recognition that there is strong connection between migration and AIDS.  One of the biggest problems with the epidemic right now is that the migrant community often isn’t included in AIDS education and prevention programs.  Their invisibility as migrants puts them at higher risk in addition to the fact that they are more likely to engage in risky sexual behavior simply because they are migrants.  Men who are migrating for economic reasons and leave their wives at home need to understand that they are putting their whole family at risk if they engage in sex with a prostitute.  There also needs to be a change in society so that women don’t have to turn to prostitution for livelihood.  Despite the fact that these women are often highly educated they still can’t find jobs and that needs to change.  These are huge recommendations since these are part of the culture.  One small way that the practice of migration could change is to support rural development programs so that there is less rural-urban migration (Way 437).  If there is stronger development in the rural area then people will be less likely to have to move to survive.  Overall probably the best way to help reduce the problem of AIDS in Africa is to lessen poverty and to educate people not only about AIDS but also about ways that they can change their lifestyles to encourage health.
