John Saurer earned his BA at
Hope College (magna cum laude) and his MFA (summa cum laude)
at Colorado State University. His many exhibitions include
shows at the Albany Museum of Art in Albany, Georgia, the
Minneapolis Institute
of Arts, the Soap Factory, and Sommers Gallery in Minneapolis;
the Rochester Art Center, Rochester, Minnesota; Fargo, North
Dakota; Fort Dodge, Iowa; and Fort Collins, Colorado.
Saurer's awards and honors include Minnesota State Arts Board Grants, Faculty Development Grants, a Nygaard Foundation Grant, the Egon Schiele Prize, and several Cash Awards. He has served as a member of the Artists' Panel, MAEP, at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. His collaborations include the Welcome mural at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
