Professor Chen completed a B.A. in English language and literature at Peking University and an M.A. in British and American literature at Nanjing University before coming to the United States and completed her Ph.D. in comparative literature at Brown University. She joined the Asian Studies faculty in fall 2007, and began her tenure track position in Chinese.
