He is a graduate of the University of West Indies and the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, has also studied at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, a Hindu seminary in Bombay, India. A native of Trinidad, he is the author of several books and a series of lectures on Hunduism broadcast worldwide by the BBC. He came to St. Olaf in 1985.
