Island Biology in the Bahamas






    San Salvador Island is a small Caribbean island boasting a great diversity of marine and terrestrial habitats, including coral reefs, sea grass beds, mangrove forests, hypersaline ponds, limestone caverns and "blue-holes" connecting inland waterways to the sea. Students study major invertebrate zoology and community ecology within these remarkable habitats. Offered next in Interim 2005 and in alternate years.
