Does doing scholarship as a liberal arts faculty member raise distinctive issues? What does data provided by recent HERI faculty surveys suggest about the challenges and opportunities for doing scholarship at a liberal arts college? at St. Olaf? Is it possible to create a complementary relationship between one's scholarship and one's teaching? Is including students in your research an answer? Does commitment to active scholarship and to liberal arts teaching change the kind of scholarship that's possible?
