PROVOST'S SABBATICAL SERIES LUNCHEON
Paul Humke, Professor of Mathematics
Meg Ojala, Associate Professor of Art and Art History
On behalf of Jim May, Provost and Dean of the College, we announce this semester's "Provost's Sabbatical Series" Luncheon, on Wednesday, October 29, 11:45-1:00 in Buntrock 142.
Last spring, Jim May wrote that "... more of us should havethe opportunity to learn about the wide range of impressive and fascinating projects in which our faculty are engaged. In order to recognize the importance of scholarly and professional development, and to highlight our sabbatical program and the good work that is being done by our colleagues. As a result, I have decided to invite 2-3 faculty per semester to participate in a session wherein each will be asked to talk briefly about his or her scholarly/professional work in a manner that is accessible to a general audience. I would also like the presenters to comment on what they did to prepare for their leaves and how they have managed the transition back to the classroom (including the ways in which they have integrated their sabbatical work with their teaching). In choosing faculty, I hope to highlight the diversity of sabbatical projects."
