Resources for Teaching 9-11 (top)

Teaching 9-11
The Clarke Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Contemporary Issues at Dickinson College sponsors the "Teaching 9-11" web site. The site provides hundreds of useful links for teachers. According to the August 30, 2002 Chronicle of Higher Education, "Perhaps the site's most useful feature is a set of links to syllabi and lesson plans that teachers can adapt. The plansrange from grade-school resources designed by PBS and The NewYork Times to descriptions of college courses, such as Middlebury College's freshman seminar "September 11: Causes and Consequences."

New York Times "Lesson Plans for Sept. 11 Offer a Study in Discord," August 31, 2002.

Cornell University's Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies. "Context and Aftermath of September 11" (Site Moved)

Social Science Research Council. "Perspectives from the social sciences"
"Terrorist attacks on and since September 11 have stimulated public soul-searching, military and diplomatic responses, and efforts to reform public policy. Both the attacks and responses to them have raised a host of questions about social organization, basic social institutions, how people mobilize amid crises, and how differences of culture and politics shape conflict and cooperation."

September 11th Digital Archive:
Use "September 11th Digital Archive" to locate anniversary events, lesson plans, videos, artistic responses, and economic studies. Find out how we used the Internet on September 11. Explore archives for radio, television, and other media, and see the plans for rebuilding and recovering. We have also included links to sites that reflect topics not directly related to September 11, but that have been part of our collective consciousness in this past year.
