The American Dream Uncovered: An Examination of Materialism as a Central Value

Center for Innovation in the Liberal Arts and the Center for Integrative Studies are pleased to announce the recipients of Magnus the Good Awards for 2004. These awards, funded by an endowment established by friends of the St. Olaf Paracollege, seek to encourage undergraduate research in student-faculty collaborations, and to stimulate the intellectual curiosity of St. Olaf students and faculty.

From a field of excellent proposals, the selection committee this year made awards to two pairs of recipients.

Professor Xun Pomponio (Economics) and student Brendan Mrosak '06 received an award to support their project, "Taming the Yangtze: Sustainable Development Along the Yangtze River." They will travel to China in the summer of 2004.

Professor Donna McMillan (Psychology) and student Caitlin Mosman '05 received an award to support their project, "The American Dream Uncovered: An Examination of Materialism as a Central Value."
