Proposals
Faculty who are interested in developing a new course that does not fit in the traditional boundaries of academic disciplines are encouraged to consider proposing a seminar in the Center for Integrative Studies. The CIS offers (and provides the FTE for) four integrative seminars each year. Besides integrating diverse disciplinary approaches, these seminars emphasize student participation and may experiment with forms of presentation and modes of learning.CIS seminars are in place for 2010-11; however, one or two new seminars are possible in 2011-12 in either the fall or spring. Typically CIS seminars are offered twice, in consecutive years, and are limited to under twenty students, sophomore and above.
For more information, see the Seminar Proposal Form and Selection Guidelines.
Initial expressions of interest should be sent to Steve McKelvey.
