This project seeks to explore the connection between architectural form and human identity. The building becomes an extension of the pedestrian's environment. It is the architect's responsibility to speak to the consiousness of the pedestrian, be it through form, circulation, or the spatial hierachy of the place. When designing for a culture, how does one address the public consciousness? Should the building form carry metaphors of the local culture, vernacular form, and/or regional building traditions? What connects the architecture with teh individual? This is the universal challenge to architecture that I seek to address. My solution is outlined below. |
