Development Web: sociology/anthropology | economics | environmental | politics | justice

Development Web...

Development is an interdisciplinary field that has been traditionally dominated by economists.  All these areas that I have chosen to highlight— sociology/anthropology, politics, environment, economics and justice—are interconnected parts of development, which is why have represented them in a "web."  Economics cannot be separated from the environment, the environment cannot be separated from justice, etc.  By no means are these five fields the only five present within development studies, but they are the five that I chose to study in my major.

Despite their interrelatedness, I have separated them here for the sake of better understanding each field’s contributions to development discourse.  Please keep in mind, though, that it is an artificial separation.

In each section you will find a brief explanation of each area, related papers that I have written and classes I have taken.  All photographs used are my work, and most of them are from my semester abroad in Bolivia.
