Thank You’s I want to thank all the people who have supported me and participated in this project, I could not have done it without them… Liz Ramirez: who I met on the plane going to Bolivia where she told me about SICOR and the orchestra of Urubichá. Without this information I never would have known about this group and to do my project with them. SICOR, especially José, Antoine, and Arturo: first, for letting me come to Urubichá to teach, play and research the school. For your advice and support in my project, for treating me like a friend, for the jokes, the discussions and all the beer. Especially thanks to Arturo for being my advisor. The town of Urubichá: for the welcome you gave me and for you friendships. You invited me to your homes and parties, you taught me your language, you took me to the river and shared your lives and games with me. It was an amazing experience in an amazing town and I will never forget it. Father Walter, Mother Ludmila, Sister Mary and Nancy: for your hospitality and delicious food in the parroquia of Urubichá, your support of my research and you concern when I was sick.
