This site is a portfolio of my individual major, Social Marketing and the Environment. I developed the major through the Center for Integrative Studies at St. Olaf College, merging subjects in psychology, media, environmental studies, and other disciplines to explore creative means of fostering sustainable behavior and encouraging public discourse surrounding environmental issues.




What is Social Marketing?

Social marketing is an interdisciplinary approach to creating positive social change. It combines traditional marketing theory with the social sciences in order to produce measurable behavioral outcomes among selected target populations. This is accomplished by removing barriers to the desired behavior while strengthening incentives.
