And it's not just our own lives that are recognized as precious, but the lives of every other person, every other being, every other reality. We can no longer be deluded by the notion that the destruction of others' lives is necessary for our own survival.

-Thich Nhat Hanh

About me

Although a lot about my personal journey with justice is covered in the introduction to written work, here are some of the other things I've enjoyed during my time at St. Olaf:

I've been on the Manitou Messenger staff this year, and have co-edited the News section and co-written the column "Sex on the Hill:"

I've sung and organized gigs for St. Olaf's female a cappella group, Agnes--this photo is from our peformance at Sweet Lou's Waffle Bar's grand re-opening:

I went abroad twice--once on a St. Olaf program to Turkey, Morocco, Egypt and Greece called Term in the Middle East, and then on a Lilly grant-funded service learning trip to Honduras to study the ethics of international service:

I'm also a member of the Cooperative Justice Honor House this year, a wonderful community of women who are dedicated to environmental and social justice. We have carried out monthly activities and have worked to build networks of justice on campus.
