Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Policy:
Applies to any of the four AP Latin Exams*: Latin: Vergil; Latin Literature: Catullus-Cicero; Latin Literature: Catullus-Horace; Latin Literature: Catullus-Ovid
*Only one AP credit is awarded by St. Olaf even if the student takes more than one of the AP Latin Exams and receives scores of 4 or 5 on all of them.
Score of 3 on AP Latin Exam:
Placement into Latin 231. Upon successful completion of Latin 231 (C or above), FOL-L will be awarded.
Score of 4 or 5 on APA Latin Exam:
Placement into Latin 231 or any Latin course above 231. Upon successful completion (C or above) of Latin 231, FOL-L and AP credit for Latin 112 will be awarded; upon successful completion (C or above) of a Latin course above 231, FOL-L and AP credit for Latin 231 will be awarded.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Policy:
Score of 5 or higher on HL Latin Exam:
Placement into Latin 231 or any Latin course above 231. Upon successful completion (C or above) of Latin 231, FOL-L and AP credit for Latin 112 will be awarded; upon successful completion (C or above) of a Latin course above 231, FOL-L and AP credit for Latin 231 will be awarded.
Score of 5 or higher on HL Classical Greek Exam:
Placement into Greek 231 or any Greek course above 231. Upon successful completion (C or above) of Greek 231, FOL-K and IB credit for Greek 112 will be awarded; upon successful completion (C or above) of a Greek course above 231, FOL-K and IB credit for Greek 231 will be awarded.
