Where to start--- I just finished three performances that celebrated my 6 decades in dance--"A Body of Knowledge"--moving is my knowing--- and currently am taking a break from rehearsing and creating new work. I am teaching 4 classes this semester in the Dance Dept. at St. Olaf-- Modern l, Power Play, Fundamentally Dance, and The Body Moveable. I love performing and dancing is one of my primary ways of being in life, but I also am a born teacher and I am enjoying giving my classes and the creative process inherent in them-- my full attention now. Who would have imagined 38 years ago when I graduated from St. Olaf that I would be back here having the time of my creative life sharing my love of "the body in motion" with students of all descriptions. Life is a crazy journey! What a pleasure to just follow its lead. (Update: November, 2008)

So nice to come across this page! Susan Schneider, great to see what you are doing. I just went through my second hip replacement, so want to start tap again in the near future. Am working at U of Dayton Law School as Asst. Dean of Admissions so I can work with students again, if not necessarily choreographing them, at least counseling them. It continues to keep me young! I started slowing getting back into dancing about 4 years ago and am currently taking classes at the University of Oregon Dance department. I just started rehearsals to be in the Spring Student Dance Concert. I've had time for all of this because I have been taking an hiatus from my Chiropractic career, but will soon be returning to that life. Having received lots of chiropractic care, my body is functioning better today than it was 30 years ago! (Update: March, 2011)

I am a priest in the Episcopal Church and rector of a small parish in Chicago. I first came to Chicago when I performed with the dance company at a Lutheran church in Evanston. I remember taking the train to visit the Art Institute. Now I take ballet at a local studio, our whole family danced in the Nutcracker with the Hyde Park School of Ballet, and I always tout the good liturgical dance I learned at St. Olaf!
