BUSINESS ANALYST
such that they benefit both clients and Digital River.
· Facilitate the definition of problems and the description of solutions (requirements)
while assessing business value.
· Listen, understand, interpret and present facts associated with projects.
· Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose
high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general
understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
· Perform ongoing research in support of requirements clarification for delivery team
(Web Development, Software Engineering and Quality Assurance).
· Track and communicate completion and impediments for the projects in the current engineering cycle.
· Work closely with quality assurance to review test plans and procedures.
· Work closely with user experience and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision
and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
· Responsible for the development of all necessary requirements documentation (such as user stories,
use cases, process flows and models, system constraints, et cetera) to support
effective communication of the requirements necessary to meet business needs.
· Obtain business owner approval and record necessary changes throughout the cycle via
active participation in functionality demonstration.
Qualifications
Work Experience:
- 1-2 years of work experience or recent/upcoming college graduate.
- Requirements elicitation: use a variety of techniques and models including interviews, brainstorming sessions, surveys, document analysis, user scenario analysis, workshops, collaborative invention, et cetera.
- Analysis: Able to weigh requirements necessary for client satisfaction with those necessary
to develop the Digital River product base. - Analysis: Evaluation and synthesis of information gathered from multiple sources, separating
requests from business needs and identifying technical or business conflicts. - Analysis: Understand how the "big picture" relates to day-to-day activities and tasks and the
business value to be obtained from these, including a thorough understanding of how to
interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. - Analysis: Demonstrable skills facilitating solution construction with the ability to challenge
engineering team and product teams on their assumptions. - Communication: Comfortable working with a variety of levels (delivery team through to VP)
as well as client facing communications. - Communication: Ability to communicate complex business goals or technical information in English.
- Communication: Ability to status clearly, keeping engineering teams in synch with product owners.
- Collaboration: Skill in uniting all stakeholders to ensure product goals are met.
- Collaboration: Demonstrable conflict resolution skills.
- Process management: Work with the organization to develop, implement
and audit standard procedures to improve and streamline processes. - Change management: Work on multiple projects, under tight deadlines, with little direct supervision.
- Motivation: Proven leadership skills in developing and motivating project team members.
- Technical: Background with various software development methodologies, i.e. Agile, Waterfall.
- Technical: Advanced skills using the following software applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio.
- Technical: Intermediate skills in SQL

BUSINESS ANALYST INTERN
The Business Analyst (BA) Intern in Software/Games will assist in writing detailed functional specifications for application and client specific enhancements as well as new application features, modules or products. The BA Intern will do research to determine business and user requirements and will then produce a detailed high level business flows and functional specification documents comprising technical specifications, use cases, business requirements and wire frames. The BA Intern will work with mentors in their department as well as development, quality assurance and user experience teams to communicate design specifications and resolve problems with designs.
Responsibilities:
· Develop functional specifications for the developers from user/business requirements
· Work with other Analysts to develop standard procedures to improve and streamline processes
· Given system conflicts or issues, provide analysis and offer solutions to the team to resolve the issues
· Define and document high-level client implementation solutions
· Work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
Required Knowledge and Skills:
· Possess knowledge of internet-based shopping experience
· Ability to pay close attention to details
· Possess excellent oral and written communications skills
· Demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills
· Possess effective time management skills while multi-tasking
· Be a team player that understands the goals of the department
· Be proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications
Education Required:

Business Strategy and Marketing Researcher

Northfield Enterprise Center (NEC), a non-profit that provides business coaching and consulting to
businesses in the Northfield area. We work with businesses of all sizes- from start-ups to larger employers.
This is a paid full-time (40 hours a week) summer internship. The NEC has an office in downtown
Northfield. However, much of this work could/may be done off-campus at libraries, etc.
Ability to access transportation may be necessary if travel to the twin cities is required.
Project Description
The NEC is piloting a new internship position this summer where we will work with one or two large
businesses in the Northfield area and do in-depth, corporate-level research for a business problem
or opportunity the business is facing. For example, we may research industry data for a
manufacturing company, or help a company identify and find new markets in which to sell
their products or services. This position will meet with business owners/managers, librarians, and
economic development staff at the local and county levels; as well as Professors and other interns.
Internship or Job Opportunity
The NEC is seeking a candidate with marketing research or other research, statistics, management, entrepreneurship, etc. experience. The right candidate for this position MUST be a self-starter
and be willing to chase down information without a lot of direction. If you are curious, inquisitive,
and strategic, this could be the internship for you!
Qualifications
· Ability to develop and manage project timelines
· Excellent writing and presentation skills
· Motivation and Follow-through skills are essential.
