Introduction
The Education program at St. Olaf College prepares reflective teachers who are fundamentally sound in subject matter areas. By combining requirements for a foundation in the arts, sciences and humanities, as well as a teaching major, the College seeks to develop effective teachers whose intellectual needs are met and whose abilities are developed both inside and outside the classroom.
Candidates seeking licensure are advised by faculty in the Department of Education and by faculty in each respective academic discipline/major. There are requirements that must be met prior to admission into the teacher education program.
The Education program at St. Olaf is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the Minnesota Board of Teaching.
